I'm going to be honest, I never listened to Kendrick Lamar before the Super Bowl. I didn't even watch his halftime performance (or any of the Super Bowl, tbh). But all the people claiming they couldn't understand him or that they hated the Super Bowl halftime show for other reasons convinced me to listen. And I discovered that not only do I love Kendrick Lamar's music, I also got really invested in his messaging and thought that "Not Like Us" and his performance was truly iconic.
